eScholarship is an online repository that provides open access publications from the University of California. It also offers preservation and dissemination services for a wide range of scholarship including working papers, electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs), student capstone projects, and paper/seminar series. Researchers depositing their previously published journal articles to eScholarship in accordance with the University of California's Open Access Policies. It serves as an institutional repository for the University of California campuses and its affiliated research centers.

EThOS is a British Library database that aims to demonstrate the quality of UK research by maximizing the availability of UK's doctoral research theses. It aims to provide free access to the full text of many theses for the use of other researchers to further their own research. EThOS is continuously developing for the benefit of both participating institutions and the users. There are over 600,000 doctoral theses that can be downloaded or scanned.
